MBTI and online learning
[see: Online Learners and their Learning Strategies]
Little has been written about MBTI learning styles in the online environment. They reviewed the literature and below are a few interesting observations:
1. Introverts - It is more comfortable for an introvert to spend time thinking about information before responding to it than it is for an extrovert (because they have no need to).
2. Extraverts - Owen and Liles observe that extraverts are more likely to use the Internet because it facilitates their inclination to be connected with large numbers of individuals and accommodates their need for group work, cooperative projects and discussion.
3. Intuitives - are overrepresented possibly because the hypertext environment suits them (and not the sensing folk who prefer a linear, step-by-step environment).
4. Thinkers - are overrepresented. Not sure why.
5. Extraverts send more email messages
6. Extraverts and Intuitives post more replies, than Introverts or Sensors.
7. Introverts send more emails containing self-diclosures.
8. 3/4 of the messages requesting clarification were posted by Judging types.
